Favorite history/genealogy/social criticism paper of 2019. This was super, super close. It started out strongly in favor of one paper but then as the vote went on the winner caught momentum and finally edged out the second place finisher. It was quite gripping. But I guess you had to be there. The top two finishers were far and away the leaders of the pack, with 21 and 20 votes each.

I voted for the Cause of Gravity Next Chapter. I may have given the Solar Minimum an unfair advantage because some people were not very specific when they mentioned a solar cycle paper, so I put those votes together under the Solar Minimum paper. I actually think the most important solar cycle paper this year was ‘The Latest on Solar Cycles.’ As for the gravity paper, I have definitely had difficulty getting my head around it, though I can recognize its importance. I would love to see Miles reconcile this new theory with his unified field equations where he assigned gravity to radius and charge to density. If they are both fundamentally aspects of charge, then how can you assign a charge effect solely to radius? Shouldn’t charge density both above and below, so to speak, matter?

Well, I can answer the last question here, on the nature of the photon. Yes, the photon is physical, and its mass is not just a result of its motion. I do not agree with Dewey Larson that “Everything is Motion”. In fact, I violently disagree with it. Mathematically, motion and mass can be linked, and I have done that. But theoretically, the photon’s existence can’t be raw motion, by definition. Something has to be in motion. You can’t have the motion of a nothing. You can’t have a hanging verb. Logically, verb requires a noun.

As a newer reader about to celebrate one year of following Professor Miles’ site, let me say how much I appreciate feeling like my vote will actually be counted… or would have been, had I not gotten sick and missed the deadline haha. Well here’s my long entry anyway.

(7) I’d like to bring some attention to a local story out of Renton, WA. I’ve been trying to research it myself but I don’t seem to be especially good at this yet. Ingrid Marie Rounsaville Lyne, divorced mother of three, murdered and dismembered by her surprisingly good-looking mid-30s formerly homeless (?) boyfriend that she met online. For no reason at all (other than “I’m not a normal person”).
This story is important to me personally because (aside from the “killer” resembling me to a tee), some of my family members knew the “murdered” woman’s children. Proving that there are actually children who are part of the grand hoax who will lie right to your face about their dead parents would, I think, be key to proving all this is fake to many of them. Any tips would be appreciated. I’ve run out of ideas and…also I noticed recently that my own Intelius profile seems to have been scrubbed, with much less information than it showed before. And much of the Intelius info on my family members has been changed to be very wrong. It was correct before. Anyone else experience this?
Anyway, here’s what I’ve dug up so far:

Sentenced to 333 months.
Some articles list what looks like a glamor shot of the killer, instead of a mug shot.
Statement by killer seems scripted and poorly acted, statement by family members is pointless and doesn’t seem to belong in a courtroom.
Gofundme page for the children raised $33k by Tuesday, $217k by first week, of $300k goal. Started Apr 11.
A documentary is made a week later on now defunct Crime Time on TheLipTV (Yt channel): “The Murders and Kidnappings of Justin Ross Harris, Ingrid Lyne & Bobby Hernandez” (19 Apr. 2016). There is an imdb page on this youtube show and episode. Also the female host, Allison Hope Weiner, looks like John Malkovich, if you care.

I think you have enough there to doubt their narrative and throw it all into question. Ingrid’s residence and work history are the biggest red flags. Living on an airforce base and working for Google?! Cmon.. I wouldn’t trust anyone from Google to run a lemonade stand without creating a data mining operation behind the counter. Dr Phil doing a show on it too? Even a bigger red flag, and that link is very, very telling as you said. Scaring women silly over online dating is just another one of their split the sexes project.

Does anyone know what’s up with this Groyper stuff and Nick Fuentes?
He’s apparently the arch-nemesis of Charlie Kirk and Ben Shapiro, which is a big red flag. He also got a headline on Drudge and an MTV hitpiece!
It kept appearing all over the alt-media around November and December. Nick Fuentes, Owen Benjamin, Roosh, Andrew Anglin, Daily Wire, 4chan, etc. Basically all the Gen Z/Millenial Intel alt-whatever projects were involved in one way or another.
The one thing that confuses me about them is the religious revival. All those guys, and Kanye West, became traditional Christians at about the same time. Almost like someone flipped a switch.
What’s up with that?
Like I said, it’s fairly traditional Christianity. Seems odd for them to push that. You’d expect a more consumer driven version Christianity. Not the “no porn; no premarital sex; big family; live on a farm; grow your own food” type Christianity.
Anyway, all my Gen Z friends (I’m Gen Z) fall for the alt-media while laughing at “dumb boomers” for falling for hippie stuff in the 1960s, Evangelical stuff in the 90s, and cable news. That reminds me, they’re doing the same “hate your parents” stuff they (apparently) did in the 60’s.
The size of the Matrix really amazes me. It literally never ends.

They all just have to keep you watching them. Do any of them come off as actual, traditional Christians? The churches of today certainly don’t. They’re all sell-outs; businesses. What then of someone like Nick Fuentes (who is Catholic I believe)? While he keeps you tuned in he’s ‘leavening’ your worldview.
So as long as you’re programmed by them, thinking you’re a real Christian whatever you’re reading in the Bible for instance is already painted for you. It’s like having a deficiency in calcium, so your bones have started absorbing the present cadmium instead. When you try to supplement with calcium it doesn’t get absorbed because the cadmium is already in its space. You have to detox the cadmium out before the calcium can be re-absorbed in its proper place (there’s a lot more that goes into it with other minerals and complexes, but it’s just an example).
Another example would be a government plant in your group of friends who are trying and figure out what’s really going on. The plant keeps saying what you want to hear, then leads you off somewhere else, preferably to do harm to your cause. Those talking heads in the alt-media are the plants in your group of friends. They take the leadership position and poison the whole well. They say they’re Christians, but what are their fruits exactly? Are they doing what Jesus would do? Their message is basically to fit into the world (the alt-right) and be part of the Matrix, even as they’re telling you to go start a farm and a big family (they are spooks so nothing you see about them is real, it’s the opposite in their private lives). Again it’s exactly like the pastors and organized religious institutions.

I did not correct my summary of the original question asked. Somebody else asked about the molecular disintegration, not you. I deliberately left your question off the list because the question sounds like it could have been copy-pasted from Clues Forum, and I view anything coming out of there with deep suspicion. Similarly, the tone of your repetitive statements sounds like it could have come straight out of the mouth of one of Ballsack’s boys.
Look, we get it: you think the entire video was fake from top to bottom. That all photographic evidence is fake. That the entire south end of Manhattan was covered in smoke so nobody in NY or the surrounding area could see a thing. (That is a claim, by the way, for which I have never seen any evidence.) And you firmly believe there were zero victims on that day. OK. You are welcome to your beliefs. But to make it into some kind of litmus test for 9/11 truthers is absurd and counter-productive.
Yes, a lot of the video that day was faked. Probably some combination of composite and CGI. And yes, probably a lot fewer people died than we are told. Was it zero? I doubt it very much. I was in NY recently. I passed by a firehouse and there was a plaque outside with the names of all the firefighters who died on 9/11. There are firehouses all over NYC with the names of other firefighters. Are they all vicsims? No, sorry, not buying it.
And you know what? I’m not going to get into a debate with you about it nor am I going to let this forum be a place to debate that issue. There are plenty of other places for that. I think there are many, many more important topics to be discussed. The desire to enforce some kind of fundamentalist truther vision is the sign of somebody who want to split the truther community. To paraphrase George HW Bush, you are a divider, not a uniter.
So enough with this. You’ve asked your question. If Miles reads it and cares to answer, he is welcome to do that. If not, that is his prerogative.

9/11, nukes, and apollo are unique among fake things, in that they are woven so tightly into most educated people’s worldview and sense of self, that any doubt raised about their authenticity can elicit strong and uncontrollable negative feelings.
the “vicsim” issue itself is, as you mention, of no consequence. the purpose of the forum comments here about “vicsims” is, as Miles said, to waste our time, but also any focus on 9/11 whatsoever serves to drive away people who are new to thinking about big fakes.

Didn’t expect a debate about the 4-meter victims: just a 2020 article idea.
So as I saw it, I just submitted my vote, and a few folks commented, fine.
Any honest person seeing that image says, “This wasn’t broadcast, was it?”
But it was: whoever made the official broadcast, made the victims too big.
No need to argue about smoke or explosions, the victims are 4-meters-tall.
Anyone with eyes says “That couldn’t have been broadcast”, then they see.
That actually was broadcast at 1pm by ABC, click the archive.org link above.
There’s no logical explanation for the victims being taller than a whole floor.

I’m just excited maybe the person whom I respect (Miles) might realize: they’re too big.
Meaning, even though he hates Simon, he can admit this point is surprisingly true.
Who knows WHY they made the victims double-size, but there it is, in the official broadcast.

I was on 46st on 911 in my union hall and when I saw it on the TV they had I immediately took the elevator and ran like hell to my van and got out of there as fast as possible up the West side highway. In my rearview mirror I saw the burning smoke and I put the pedal to the metal made it to the George Washington Bridge and all the traffic was was stopped but then the traffic picked up and I made it off the island before anybody else.
There were some people from my union working there and I could have actually been working there!
The thing is sometime later I talked to a young man from my union that was there and he said that he was outside and he saw the people jumping and he described the sound of their bodies hitting the floor. He seemed very upset and said he had to go home and smoke a whole ounce of weed to help him calm down. (I think alcohol would have been a better choice)
He said the sound of people hitting the ground gave him nightmares. He said it was like a popping sound. I know for sure he wasn’t lying to me so people did jump.
And also one of my friends from the the union saw the collapse from the New Jersey side and said that he saw little puffs of smoke coming out the side before the collapse. We talked a lot about it and it really did happen.
Something doesn’t look right about that picture that you posted. The picture on the left with the people and the picture on the right with the guy sitting at the desk do not match up at all.

That’s the point: that’s the OFFICIAL BROADCAST, not some creation by me or Simon.
Check the official broadcast yourself, I posted the link above for Miles to confirm this.
So regardless of hate for Simon, the official broadcast definitely does NOT match reality.
First difference, the creator of the official broadcast “compressed” the building vertically.
He did so to simulate a “looking up” perspective, and yet: the victims are simply TOO BIG.
In authentic footage, the victims should be exactly HALF the size of each 3.6-meter floor.
The official broadcast shows them as TALLER than each 3.6-floor, thus: NOT authentic footage.
The official broadcast is proven NOT authentic footage, due to 4-meter fake victims, case closed.
It’s easy to claim, in person and online, “I saw and heard real bodies hit the ground. How about that?”
Such claims do NOT overcome the fact: ABC 1pm official broadcast had 4-meter fake victims. Period.
Once one has seen that fact, it can’t be unseen. Impossible-victim-size & impossible-dustification: CGI.
Again, simple controlled demolition, hidden behind smoke, while broadcasting a pre-prepared CGI movie.
The building was demolished the standard bottom-to-top way, not the impossible way the official broadcast depicts.
It’s hard to admit one was mistakenly assuming the official broadcast “footage” showed real live victims+dustification.
The links I provided above prove the official broadcast “footage” showed 4-meter victims, so why believe it’s “molecular dissociation”.
Miles has confirmed the official “footage and victims” fake in all the other cases, and now comes confirmation of the same problem with 9/11.
I know, it’s hard to admit: “I analyzed the official broadcast for almost 2 decades without noticing the fact the victims were as tall as each floor.”
All these words I have typed are, just like the “I saw victims” words, are all just words. Don’t believe anyone. Go check the official broadcast yourself.
Find whatever official broadcast source YOU choose, and you will have to admit, that particular 10 minutes shows 4-meter victims, thus fake victims.
If Miles is able to explain why the official broadcast shows those “victims” to be taller than the black lines clearly delineating each floor, I’ll consider.
Currently, I think Miles simply never noticed the official broadcast contained such a size-discrepancy error when zooming-in on the official “victim” shots.
Regardless of the “Miles vs Simon” rivalry, this simple fact is undeniable: the official broadcast fooled the world with pre-prepared 4-meter victims.

This is just the old Shack gambit to waste my time. While I have been covering all of history, he has turned out to be a one-trick pony, saying the same things over and over, like Observer. How many times has he said 4-meter in the past couple of days? I don’t go to CluesForum and demand a response from Shack on each of my papers, do I? Demanding he agree with me as some sort of sign of clubbability? Do you know why? I DON’T CARE if he agrees with me. He and all his goons are beneath my notice. They can yap until the cows come home and it won’t make a bit of difference to anyone. It is just one big circle jerk over there and always has been. Like POM and all the other “truth” forums, which appear to me to be just Intel fronts. The same could be said of the mainstream media, but I assume a few real people still look at mainstream media. I could be wrong.

For the subconscious brain to be able to develop a consciousness must have taken an extremely long time in evolutionary time. This is the main driver in my belief that mankind has been around as a human for an extremely long time; we just haven’t found the proof yet. Look how long it took to find dinosaur remains.
While creationists deny most animals have consciousness or advanced levels of consciousness, singling mankind out as being special somehow, for us to have developed to this degree, we must have broken away from the constraints of ape-hood a very, very, very long time ago.
Okay, wrong thread but reincarnation rubs me up the wrong way. Just religion.
I know consciousness is amazing but it’s still produced physically. The muse paper had a very interesting concept but I find it very hard to comprehend it existing in a realistic physical world. Sorry Miles. Would make an interesting sci-fi novel. Best seller maybe? Get it written before a certain Harry Pothead novelist nicks the idea Miles……

Even though I don’t believe in the Bible I still think that there is a spirit world and probably a creator of the universe of some kind.
I can never understand why people think if you say you don’t believe in the Bible they automatically think that you are an atheist and you don’t believe in anything supernatural.
You don’t necessarily need reincarnation to believe in an afterlife we could just die and go to a different realm.

My feeling is, why would we so strongly desire something that doesn’t exit? We desire water, food, love, all sorts of things, and the possibility exists to meet all those needs. Likewise, everyone desires to be a kid again, and to not just cease to exist. People don’t really desire a heaven-like place with no problems whatsoever because human beings are hard-wired to enjoy solving problems (even when you watch a sitcom or listen to music, there is always a pattern of conflict-climax-resolution that makes us feel good to experience).
I guess I have a basic belief that the universe isn’t just a dumb waste of time, so the truth of existence and consciousness would have to conform to my basic framework of being cool and inspiring (immortal light beings) and not totally lame (we just die and that’s it). I happen to believe humans are fundamentally ridiculous because we are two-in-one: the short-lived animal and the immortal spirit, both of which make us who we are in this life. Life is better when the the two-people-in-one-body are in sync, life sucks when the two are fighting for dominance.
In any case, with the absence of proof comes the opportunity to believe whatever makes you happy and effective, at least pending further evidence.

The subconscious brain has come so far and seeks out new adventures.
Imagination knows no bounds and science fiction shows just how creative that blob of fat inside our skull can be. But I’m satisfied that anything outside the body is exactly that and our thoughts and persona are part of our physical entity, nothing more.
I did enjoy reading Miles paper, don’t misunderstand me. I found it fascinating but it erred too close to the religious cliff edge for me to give it any serious consideration.
With respect to all, I am reminded again of Father Ted telling Dougal about the difference between fantasy and reality.
We are born only knowing creation and life. We know nothing of death. So as far as those two concepts are concerned our thoughts are constricted to working with a beginning and life. Death will always be in another realm, because it is separate from life which is created. We have to be alive to comprehend, which death puts a stop to.
People who have been saved after dying often have hallucinations, which they are convinced are heaven and angels etc. There are plenty of dementia patients who have hallucinations that are so vivid, they are adamant that what they believe they saw was real. They didn’t pass into another realm or have an out of body experience. They simply hallucinated. Their brain made up some bizarre picture of the world because it is losing it’s ability to process reality properly. Lets face it, this is what the brain does very successfully every moment we are alive, taking in sensory information and building an entire virtual reality experience for us to communicate with and interact with the world around us. It is so amazing, that it takes the upside down picture of our world and turns it the right way up. That one thing I find utterly amazing because it does it so perfectly, that we are completely unaware of it’s actions. It is also extremely good at doing the opposite causing bizarre images and illusions which can seem just as believable as the real ones. It is also very easily indoctrinated.
Blame Miles. He made me this way, keeping everything simple and physical and learning to disregard all the media thrust of ghost particles and hidden dimensions and virtual photons and borrowing energy from the vacuum etc. If every particle started off as a charge photon, then we are indeed ‘light beings’. We are made from light. I agree 100% with that and would be foolish not to. But to consider that conglomeration of atoms/cells having some sort of super-power, external to the physical being I find very difficult to accept and sits very close to ghosts and Gods and heaven & hell and Ouija boards.
If death isn’t an end and there is more, then I look forward to seeing the next stage of my existence. But just in case I’ll try not to pop off prematurely and waste this precious life my parents so generously gave me.

I don’t know if the universe is finite or infinite (although I would lean toward finite since it seems impossible to ever prove anything is infinite). But it doesn’t really affect my worldview. Neither does diety vs no diety. I guess my idea is, if you accept some sort of evolution shaped our “physical” bodies (the part of us made from elements on the periodic table), perhaps there was some sort of evolution that occurred around the part of us that’s made of charge, energy, photons, etc. I think the thing on Miles’ science site that stuck out most at me so far is his diagramming of the water molucule, and also the evolution article that hypothesized about how enzymes know what they’re supposed to do. There seems to be lot going on with light and charge that we previously had no conception of, so it raises a lot of possibilities surrounding what we actually are, without the need for any type of “religious” thinking.
I guess it comes down largely to what we’re willing to accept vs what we aren’t willing to accept. I can accept mystery and even a certain amount of “wuwu” in my life, but I can’t accept complete non-existence. To me it’s like when Penn and Teller say they’re appreciating Vermeer by showing he’s a cheater. How can I appreciate a cheater? And by the same token, how can I appreciate a life that will pass away and be completely forgotten within a few years? It’s simply impossible for me. And when a “committed athiest” tries to argue that life is more beautiful because it will one day be forgotten, I can’t help but wonder if, like “Tim’s Vermeer”, I’m just being screwed with.
But if it really helps you make better sense of the world to dismiss spiritual stuff out of hand, don’t think I’m trying to criticise or anything. If we meet in the afterlife tavern, I will have a milkshake. 🙂
Speaking of infinity, I must mention I am allergic to any talk of black holes. Remember “evaporating black holes” were one of Stephen Hawkings major fields of “study”, back before he started the whole Weekend At Bernie’s thing.

Unless that person did something memorable enough to be immortalised, then after a few generations they ‘will’ be forgotten. We remember Mozart and Genghis Khan but what about Albert Smith the window cleaner from Stockport? No wife, no children, never did anything particularly memorable. Who remembers bee number 2,379 from Alberts hive back in 1978 after that died. Does the bee also have an afterlife or is it just reserved for humans, and if so why?
Every time I tried to get an inch closer to understanding ethereal stuff I ended up with 20 new questions….so I gave up.
And what about the newborn having no memory of a previous existence. It’s only when that new life is indoctrinated with stories of the possible existence of other realms, that it starts to think that such realms exist. Without those teachings the person would have no clue.
A child brought up without religious teachings does not believe in Gods, because they have no reason to believe they may exist. Only after being told they do does the child begin believing in the possibility that supernatural beings exist.
I’m always looking for the simplest answer (Occam – Miles), and after spending far too much time thinking about the duality of ‘mind’, I came to the conclusion that the imaginary person or voice in your head when you are a young child, or that feeling that there’s someone watching over you, is simply the conscious part of the brain communicating with the subconscious part.
Its sort of … like …. the brain coming to terms with its own existence. Realising that it doesn’t just have to sit there and observe and interact with its surroundings, but it can actually be aware of itself. That’s what I think ‘self’ is. So that’s what I think the ‘soul’ is. Simplistic and boring I agree but I’m very happy with that explanation.
Not wanting to back myself into a corner here, I also love a great bit of sci-fi from the Alien and Predator franchises to Lord of the Rings. And Star Trek. Nothing wrong with a bit of fantasy but I don’t think it should ever be confused with reality.

Any road up…. I only believe in the possibility of Gods and other realms because I was told they exist at school and in the media. Neither did I believe that other weird things exist until I was told they perhaps did, like black holes, super-strings, other dimensions, ghosts, and, dare I say it, dinosaurs. We have evidence in the form of very large bones, which are not actually bone but a mineralised equivalent, a fossil. So they admit that they are basically made from rock/stone, under immense pressure. So how did they keep their shape? Question number 48 million and one.
And so back to Noah’s Ark. Real? Fraud? Titanic…sunk…not sunk? I need evidence to believe in anything and I need more than just stories and fables and fake bones.

Okay, I just donned my flame retardant suit. Here is my take:
As playful as a kitten or as playful as our new puppy Ziggie let’s play with the idea that time does not exist.
Let’s say the concept of time as we know it is false. It is not a linear construct. Best way to think of it is to imagine dreams you’ve had just before waking. Where it seems like days just went by in the short blink of an eye. Or you feel like you had gone on so many adventures and they reached “very far” during your dream state. That’s as close as I can describe to you the state of ‘no time.’
Having said that let me say that I am one who keeps a dream journal. I am one who practices Out of Body Experiences. (They are actually quite easy to pull off.) In keeping a dream journal that allows me (or you) to reach into your subconscious state during your ‘waking’ hours (by writing down your dreaming self’s adventures while awake) and it also allows your sleeping or dreaming self to reach (or come) into your waking self’s state. Let’s say this is the purpose of day and night or it’s our goal to blend them so we have access to our whole self.
The yin and yang symbol is the best physical description of it conceptually to my mind.
So, as playful as can be, let’s say that instead time is simultaneous and it only exists in one moment. Meaning you or me can only ever ‘prove’ a now. And in our now all physical constructs are idea constructs. And they only come from our ‘now’ ideas.
An example would be: I walk to the mailbox and receive a letter and it makes me very upset. It wasn’t the letter that caused my emotional state of uneasiness. It was actually my emotional state that created the letter. It’s the same if I get an email and it makes me very happy. I chose that state before the actual experience. In this example I’m trying to show that our ‘ideas’ are actions that are ‘creating time’ and that we are not reactionary creatures reacting to experiences.
Our new puppy is slapping us in the face with his expression of nowness over the last few weeks. It’s incredible how spontaneous he is. He only lives in his now. He doesn’t regret. He doesn’t ‘look forward.’ He only is now.
Someone somewhere said you can learn more by watching animals then you can from any man. Or something like that. And I can’t imagine one animal I’ve ever observed ever bothering itself over the concept of time. Why should we be different?

Time can’t vary, it just is. Read Miles explanations on relativity and time dilation. If I get this right, he say’s that time dilation is real and exists but is a visual illusion based on what we perceive around us in every day life. When those experiences are extrapolated out to high speed space-ships, we get confused by what we see. He explains the illusion in some detail.

When we are very young, I don’t think we need to be aware of the concept of time, but we soon learn that we have to wait for things to happen, like dawn, breakfast etc. As we learn about routine, we soon become aware that time is part of existence, and we have to wait for almost everything. Dogs are the same. They learn about the constrictions that come with time passing even if they have don’t have the same comprehension of the concept of time that we do. As puppies they have no reason to follow time restraints like waiting for an owner to return from work, and so bark and whine – like a babies cry. But they soon learn. We are no different.
For a dog to understand the ‘concept’ of time we would need detailed communication. Lets face it, it’s hard enough explaining it to most human adults, especially getting them to be on time…..
We know time is real because we see an endless stream of cause & effect. The only deviation being when our brain makes errors or is in a dream-state (Maine(?)joke) or being affected by a drug of some sort.
A study I read recently gave a beautiful explanation for why time seems to slow down in an accident or some other state of terror. It is the brain starting to analyse the situation in tiny segments, so it literally puts a delay on it’s normal processing of visual data. You may know the reason for running games and video at 25 fps or higher? The brain takes snap-shots of the world and fits them together just like a movie. It does this, normally, at a speed which avoids any juddering effect. So if video is running at a frame-rate which is slower than the brains normal anti-judder speed, we will naturally be aware of judder and it gives a weird effect almost like slow motion. Any faster and the brain gets plenty of information and sees no judder and likewise doesn’t interfere. In a state of emergency, the brain holds on to those visual snapshots much longer so the subconscious can make better sense of what’s occurring. That way it can make better snap judgements about what to do next to have a greater chance of escaping injury or death for instance. It slows down the normal 25 fps ‘ish anti-judder frame-rate down to perhaps 12 fps, which gives us the impression of slow motion. All very simple and rather clever. Isn’t biology the bees bollox? Amazing!
It is that state of fear and trepidation that causes ghost hunters to see ghosts. Hallucination. Seeing what you expect to see. Almost like a waking dream where the brain starts mixing imagination with reality.
A question: What sparked your interest in keeping a journal of your dreams?

“Time,” to me, does not exist in a linear fashion as we were taught. I will admit when I first took ahold of this idea and tried to prove it to myself, I was chasing my tail round and round just like a playful & curious dog. Mainly because I was ‘inside’ the paradigm of time defined as a linear construct. The biggest stumbling block ‘inside’ the paradigm was actual pictures of the past. I just couldn’t understand how they could exist if time does not exist linearly and is only ever a ‘now.’
So, my take on time being simultaneous or proving to myself that time is only in a ‘now’ finally arrived when I took on the idea of probabilities. (More on those later.) ‘Moment by moment’ as a phrase can only be experienced or proven, to me anyway, one at a time. If pressed I can only ever ‘point’ to the one moment I am ‘in’ or ‘experiencing’ but I can never point to the next one or to the previous one.
Best visual on this is to imagine 3 balloons or 3 rubber balls about a foot wide each. Let’s say they are sitting on the desk in front of you. Next, consider that the middle ball is the present moment and in this ball is all your beliefs about ‘everything’ in your ‘right now.’ The ball on the left is your supposed ‘past’ and the ball on your right is your supposed ‘future.’ (hopefully I can make the supposedly part clear.)
Now, your present beliefs couched in the middle ball is where the experiences in the other 2 balls come from. Example: Let’s say you think all cops are assholes in the middle ball (your present moment). Imagine this is a belief and you’ve had it for some time. It then becomes very easy to look into the ‘past’ ball and see experiences that you’ve had that proves that statement correct. The kicker is that the belief is only held in the present ball to begin with and can only show up in the past ball if held in the present one. To perform this exercise, you must play with and be ‘in’ the idea that time is simultaneous and not linear. We are imaginative and playful so it’s not such a stretch to play with these ideas.
On the other hand, in this example, when you look toward the future ball you can easily imagine negative run-in’s with the law at some point in the future. And beyond that you constantly imagine these negative experiences and how you will act when they happen in the future. You run these scenarios over and over in your mind. You emote them with energy over and over and never stop to real-eyes that you are ‘creating’ the experiences in your ‘now’ ball.
Again, one example, ‘believing’ cops are bad, transmits out from your ‘now’ to both your past and to your future at the same ‘moment.’ So, in your ‘past’ it’s easily definable, by the experiences there. But also, in your ‘future’ it becomes easily definable by experience. But either way they are transmitting from your ‘now.’
The best way to see how it works is to practice with beliefs that are not as hard core as believing anything about cops. Lol
Let’s say you start playing with one of my favorite new beliefs, ‘I always find a parking space right up front of where I’m going.’ It can only be practiced in a now anyway so after getting started and after some time of finding parking spaces right in front of where you are going you’ll begin to see how they become ‘into’ the past and obviously in the now, but also they become into the future without ever real-eyesing it. I’m cute with that word because it’s fricking fun.
Now, having said all this I admit it ‘appears’ as though we are talking about the past and the future as solid definable things, but they are not. The idea of finding that new parking up front can only become a mantra to you in your ‘now.’ So, you’ll be inserting it into your ‘now’ ball. From there it will transmit or become obvious in ‘both’ of the other balls. In effect the past and future balls become over laid upon the present now ball. They actually sit in the same ‘space’ after you realize all this.

I think that, in a roundabout fashion, you just described what the subconscious brain does automatically, without you realising, all the time – linear or otherwise.
As a child, I used to think I had some kind of super-power because I used to make great choices all the time, just by thinking about something for several seconds. But after spending ages reading lots of stuff about how the subconscious brain runs our reality, I came to the conclusion that I had no special powers, and wasn’t incredibly talented, but everybody did this all the time, so I was no different to everyone else. So I asked myself why most people are crap at making decisions. It’s very simple. Your subconscious brain is an animal of an expert at making very good decisions, because like a quad core processor it can munch through data extremely quickly to come to a conclusion. The fact that you are completely unaware of this occurring is at first difficult to grasp, but think of it as the brain sort of subduing the conscious part temporarily, kind of going partially offline, just for a few seconds while the subconscious concentrates on making that decision. When it’s done, it feeds the conclusion into the conscious part of the brain, so you can act on the conclusion the subconscious part came to. The people who make terrible decisions tend to override what their subconscious tells them to do. It data-mines millions of bits of information stored in memory to work out if its safer to go left or go right. If life’s experiences swing toward the safest bet being to go left, then the odds are that you will be safer going left. You then observe with your conscious part that it appears that the right path looks much safer, not realising that there is a hidden danger. The spooky thing about this next bit is that your subconscious already looked at the scene and incorporated that observation into its equation/choice making….without you even realising. It took a sneaky peek so it had up to date info to use. So the subconscious will already have spotted that there may be a hidden danger and therefore told your conscious brain to go left. When you override it you deliberately throw caution to the four winds, fingers crossed, and hopefully survive, but in most cases you walk straight into the danger that your subconscious warned you about.
That’s how it works, in a nutshell. A pretty big nutshell but there it is.
So your three ball analogy seems to describe the same thing. Using the past, but in the now, to make decisions in the future.
Read Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. He calls it thinking without thinking and describes how, what we think of as free will, doesn’t really exist, and almost all decisions we make are made subconsciously.
I like to analogise it like a search on a computer, looking for specific data to help you choose something, where your computer processor and RAM are the subconscious brain, the hard-drive is the memory, and the monitor is the conscious part that can interact externally, and show you what the processor concluded – show what it found to be most accurate to your search.
I think we do so much overriding of the subconscious to help us fit in with society and get along with people we dislike, neighbours we despise and jobs we hate. We tend toward the safer, less boat-rocking choices. This is yet another proof of the lack of free will, that our subconscious is choosing the safer option due, like you said, to having lots of bad experiences – memories – with cops. So it chooses the options that avoid any confrontation with cops in the future. A cop-less third ball.
It’s a fascinating subject.

Very nice. You’re describing probabilities, which I mentioned, in another way. My favorite way is the intersection analogy. But I do want to add the ‘why’ 1 of the 3 paths is chosen.
Let’s say you come to an intersection (4 way) and you don’t know which way you are going to go next. In the context of probabilities you actually go all 3 directions at once and that future self (remembering time is simultaneous) sends back to your present self the idea which direction will be ‘most fulfilling.’
I do it all the time when I jump in my car and forget something. My future self tells my present self, “you left your water at home.” Rather then deal with that ‘regret’ I jump out of the car in that ‘past’ self (from the future’s perspective) and go back in the house, grab the water and merrily head out down the road.
The main idea why 1 of the 3 probabilities is chosen is because of the idea of fulfillment. We are value fulfilling entities – to my way of thinking.
If your value lies within law enforcement run-ins, you’ll magnetize and create them. If not, then you won’t. It’s brilliant.

I hope this posts after my lengthy post or it’ll seem weird…like time reversal.
Just imagine, if your consciousness suddenly became aware of what your subconscious brain was doing. You’ve seen the FX in horror movies where the mind sees a sudden burst of hundreds of memory images? A perfect example would be the gory flashbacks in the film Event Horizon.
This is what your subconscious brain is doing, going through memories at an incredible speed, but much faster than the film version, like the computer searching for your request, where you can hear the screech of data picked up by your phone or headphones.
Maybe some people actually have a flaw in their brains which causes them to see bursts of the subconscious in action. I guess you might call it madness, and it would certainly seem like you were going mad to start witnessing the subconscious brain at work. I think it would be quite terrifying, like fast-forwarding a video but in your head……eeeeek! I wonder if there would be sound?

Yes blended and balanced is the key. Point being that the ‘data’ or ‘information’ in one definitely is not normally in the other. And that’s how they can potentially help each other.
The phrase ‘sleep on it’ applies here. I actually do it all the time. I take a question to bed and remind myself that the first idea that floats to the top of my mind upon awaking is the answer that would be for my highest good. Works like a charm. This might even qualify as grandma or grandpa kind of advice.
The subconscious as viewed by, or portrayed by (more like it) Hollywood is supposed to be scary and something to be feared. I’m not calling myself an expert at accessing mine but I do know it’s there and more of a comfortable part of me and not a scary part of me. That is to say I don’t expect something scary from it nor want to put a scare into it. But Hollywood most definitely does not want you leaving a movie with the ability of accessing your subconscious mind for your own benefit. How in the world can they make a profit from that?
You know and I know their goal is fear. When you’re afraid you buy security systems, firearms, karate classes, counseling, etc. etc. etc.
To my understanding we access our subconscious every single night. Every single ‘time’ we sleep. That’s why this is one of my favorite subjects. Who do you know that doesn’t sleep? Who do you know that doesn’t dream? 😉

Which has got me thinking about dream images. Maybe dreams are just the subconscious brain playing around, having some fun, making it’s own reality, nothing like as accurate as true reality of course but almost believable, it had a few hours to spare. And at times, when it’s working hard making those images, maybe the data-stream leaks into your conscious brain and becomes what we term a ‘lucid dream’?
Your brain, when asleep, in a dream state, is maybe susceptible to this leaking of information and just briefly witnesses the subconscious having a bit of fun.
Just a thought!

My thinking and experience has led me to number 2. Without the light, soul, photon that drives these bodies, they do nothing, including the brain.

You mention the ‘subconscious.’ THIS is the why I started creating a dream journal and remembering, then writing down my dreams. My objective was to become awake in a dream and then ‘direct’ the dream.
Remember the yin and yang symbol. The white represent the day and the black represents the night. My goal was/is to blend them so I become awake in my dreams and bring my ‘subconscious’ self awake into my day. That way my ‘decisions’ and ‘choices’ all fit my true desire and hopes for a fulfilling life. 😉
I had a student once, she was very psychic (intuitive or whichever word you like), and one time she told me about a very lucid dream she had. She said while she was looking at this open dirt field she was telling herself that if what “I” told her in class was true then this field should grow grass because she wanted it too.
Bam!! Instant grass field. Then to test if it was real she started pulling at the grass arguing whether it was real or not. She felt the grass, saw the grass grow and was actually pulling it out. All the while shouting, “is this grass real!”
We all laughed our asses off in class when she brought that one up. She had many more and never failed to surprise us all with her adventures.

I understand your analogy.
Difference is that dreams are not real. If something isn’t real then anything could be imagined by the mind. But back in the real world time exists and goes on.

I think the only reason you or I can say something isn’t real is because of being ‘taught’ that by someone we respected or beLIEved in.
And that’s where we can respect each other. If we can accept that our beliefs are different than at least we have a start at the best live art ever: conversation.
Back to dreams. They are as real as what you call your waking self’s experiences. In fact they are where you try on things you want to experience (by your waking self) in your waking life or your day’time’.
This is a heck of an idea here: the entire fabric of your dreaming self’s world is created by you. And just because you wake up doesn’t cause that world to evaporate. It actually continues in its own now-ness. Meaning everything you see in a dream, everything you experience is a physical construct as real as the one you are now calling your waking self’s ‘reality.’ And here’s another kicker. While you’re here ‘that’ self thinks all ‘this’ is a dream. How do you beat that? 😉

Have you ever had a lucid dream? Where you are ‘totally’ awake in the dream? During your last one, what in the world had you thinking it wasn’t real? That what you were experiencing had no elasticity, or had no physical quality? You have to admit it was truly dynamic.
I’ve had OOB’s where the color was so vibrant and pastel beautiful that upon awakening “NONE” of the colors in waking reality could come close to matching the quality. I can only imagine that great painters understand how to come close to putting on canvas what they are see-ing in their minds eye. It took me months to absorb that experience.
Oh, I have not problem being totally incorrect. I also learned you have to respect what ever reality you find yourself in. I call myself an amateur tourist. All my travels in this reality I give my utmost respect. It’s a good habit and has paid off handsomely. But don’t get me wrong it’s also fun being cantankerous. 😉

And animals do have a sense of time…. the problem is they can’t communicate with us but if they could talk they would be saying things like.
“ You fucken left me in this house for 2 days… how come you took SO LONG( long means time) to come back and feed me”

I found myself recently studying the Salmon and how they swim so far upstream. How they build up fat stores so they can make the journey. I mean to say, “far out!”
They avoid so many obstacles and literally achieve the totally impossible journey, some even make it 300 miles or so, and to arrive, spawn and die.
But their death is not an end. It’s only another beginning. Let’s imagine that the bear that comes along and eats a freshly dead salmon now has to digest that salmon. Then, it’s not a stretch to see that that salmon now becomes part of the bear.
Taking it one more step: does not the salmon now see through the bears eyes?
In all of the above, I can’t seem to fit into the story that the Salmon have such an urgent ‘deadline’ to deal with. They only seem to be one mission oriented. Instinct. I, for the life of me, cannot explain how in the world my new 8 week old puppy knew how to fetch on his 2nd day in my house. Where and in what ‘time’ did he learn that?

What we call instinct is coded into the DNA of the animal. I believe Dawkins covers this. All that so called ‘redundant’ DNA is like a library of useful information that the body can use if and when needed. The biggest hurdle to the body utilising this method of support is the toxic sludge it is poisoned with every day. It is effectively fighting a losing battle.
As for dreams….thinking about dogs….our doggie has some pretty lucid dreams almost every time he’s asleep, yapping and twitching and doing all the paw-flapping running gestures. If my wife went off like that I’d think she was having a seizure!
The difference between dreams and reality is that you are relying on memory to produce a dream, whereas reality gives you loads of real-time sensory information to build the virtual reality scene that we truly experience. As I said above, it’s the toxic diet that messes everything up. This is why you have such wonderful dreams as a child but as you age those dreams become weaker and broken and more difficult to control. This will be blamed on ageing but there has to be a root cause to everything. There are plenty of people who still have very lucid dreams in their 50s and 60s but I will wager that they have always eaten well, and probably abstained from the usual poisons of alcohol, tobacco and illicit drugs. Don’t get me started on prescription poiso.. ahem, I mean drugs.

I can never understand the obsession that religious people have with cremation.
The natural way is not to vapourise yourself and mix what’s left with wood ash.
If I visit a grave and wishfully talk to a dead one, I want to be talking to the remains of the actual person, not a pile of ashes which is 99% coffin with bits of other peoples ashes and coffins included in the mix. And no, I don’t think I’m talking to a spirit, it just helps me cope with the loss.
My wish is to rot back into the ground and become part of the Earth that gave me life in the first place. To become food for the bugs and worms. I won’t mind, cos I’ll be dead and gone. I have no trouble with that. I didn’t exist before birth and I will cease to exist after death. Anything more I feel is being selfish. I’ve had my time.
I feel sorry for religious fundamentalists who die for their God, often throwing their lives away at an early age. So if there’s no afterlife? What a waste! And if there is, they’d better hope they worshipped the right God and that he’s happy with their performance. Oh but wait. Doesn’t God forgive all sins? Looks like I should carry on regardless because we are told we are punished in hell yet forgiven our sins…..well….you can’t have your cake AND eat it, even in your dreams….I’ve tried…..

And yes I used to practice having lucid dreams but it was really difficult. But no matter what…. dreams are not real…. lucid or not.

You’re abso-frickin-lutely correct! It is a subject that is “not” for the uninitiated. Most people, almost all I should say, are so well indoctrinated by their butt-wiper beer and their idiot box cheerios that streams 24/7 on their favorite channel that they, sadly, will never understand these concepts. Not that they couldn’t though, just that they are so firmly entrenched within their own beliefs that it would take another lifetime to ‘undo’ those before taking on creative discussions like these.
I breathe them out loud here because, the potential exists to learn from similar minded folk who don’t fall for the lies anymore. I’ve been a student and teacher of these concepts since 1991ish. It is not cocktail party conversation I’m looking for but the expansion of ideas.
Dreams to me are different then they are to you. We are both right. And important beyond that is the question whether or not we can respect each others viewpoint and move past that towards creative conversation. I know I am taking a risk but on the beautiful subject of dreams I can tell you, from experience, that it’s one of the most difficult things I’ve ever embarked upon. That is writing them down, remembering them, coming awake ‘in’ a dream, creating the landscape, flying, flying down the street, flying through walls, etc. etc.
The real discipline comes when you have to remind yourself ‘not’ to wake up but to keep going. I imagine enough study in your awake times allows you to remember that message while you are in the flux of the moment.

Time is important in the equation for lift on a wing like Miles said….. as the wing speeds up it touches more rising charge per second… so time is important.
So time is real.

humans in general have quite limited view of how the world really works. we lack empathy really. I would say we are worse than animals tbf. once I understood its all connected everything made sense to me.

Ah, yes, great idea! I have two files of quotes myself. One is a compilation of his scathing evisceration of contemporary physics. The other is humorous or other quotes. That one is called ‘Mathis-isms’. Remarkable that I’m not the only one who has taken to collecting quotations. Most of my quotes actually come from his physics papers.

I would like more on the absurdity of the Big Bang theory. For instance,
If the light that is just now reaching us from the farthest known stars is billions of years old, and everything came out of the Big Bang, then did the material that makes up our solar system travel faster than light, inasmuch as we reached our apparent physical position relative to those stars ahead of the light from them? Is light the slowest thing in the universe?

You are touching on inflation theory there. For a short time, the universe expanded at an incredible speed far faster than light speed, then slowed down again. With a universe which is infinite in extent and time, you don’t need fanciful fairy tales like those to try and explain your theory. The universe just is, and that’s something we will never be able to explain. Then again, it simply doesn’t require an explanation.
