[This is the thread to discuss the current corona virus psy-op.]
From Las Vegas, Pittsburg, Thousand Oaks to Russian Collusion and the Khashoggi assassination, false-flag hoaxes, conspoofacies, fake murders and other manufactured events are running non-stop around the world and around the corner.
A reader wrote in to suggest opening a comment section devoted to discussing current (faked) events. I thought it was a good idea and would provide a place where people could chime in on what’s going on in the news and even offer evidence for why they think the event was faked, hoaxed, manufactured, etc. (or why not). Have at it, unless you think it’s a waste of your time–in which case, don’t!
This Is Making Us SICK! – The Connection Between STRESS, TRAUMA & DISEASE | Dr. Gabor Maté
in conversation with Mark Hyman MD
commenter: At least we’ve finally arrived at the point of calling out the century-long inadequacies of Rockefeller medicine.
Probably Pfizer/BioNtech etc are Rthschild/Rckefeller agents.
This I read somewhere today. I am not sure, but it seems so logic. Chandra
The BioNtech saga to me seems fabricated. Pfizer had been involved in dozens of courtcases for malpractice, blackmail and fraud. By 2020. And so were many of the other US drug labs.
For the intended plandemic and to reassure the more educated, critical professionals and public, there needed to be fresh faces. And another company name. New science. Another country too. Reliable Germany ie.
January 2020 a Turkish/German couple Özlem Türeci (wife) and Uğur Şahin (husband) appeared onthe stage. Unknown but succesful medical doctors and researchers. In april 2020 they already received the Axel springer price for their miracle BioNtech gene mix ‘vaccin. In an empty hall because of lockdowns. (Springer is spooky).
Rags to riches: from immigrant children to succesful medical researchers. With their own firm/factory/lab. Busy to find THE solution to cancer. Not just working but dedicating their lives to special cancer medicine.’They produced ‘Custom Made’ medicine for the rich. Very expensive. This couple (acc. to wiki) had scraped 14 billion $ with this ‘charity work’ in 10 years.
On a January morning 2020 Özlem and Ugur realize that a huge pandemic will sweep the earth. And that they probably can solve that problem. (What? )
BioNtech was succesful in their high tech cancer niche. Or so they claim. And then switch over to develop vaccins? Against a virus. Is that like a dentist doing open heart surgery?
Without any real test results they contact Pfizer in april 2020.
I do not believe this story line.
Also: the happy couple looks uneasy most of the time.
Somewhat tormented.

“Busy to find THE solution to cancer.”
This is an obvious red flag because it is so like practitioners of orthodox medicine to be on the hunt for THE one solution for terminal diseases that only the institution of heroic medicine can discover. This is especially rich irony in view of the historical record of THE medical institution using police-state authority in figuratively burying “killing”multiple cures for cancer during the early to mid-1900’s, while also helping to bury the discoverers.
Rife & Gerson were well before my time. For that reason it’s probably easy to dismiss their works as cancer cures woo woo. W. Donald Kelley happened during my time but well before the Internet era, and by the time he wrote & posted The One Answer to Cancer, he was an angry & somewhat broken man, which of course makes it easy to dismiss him as a bitter crackpot. Nonetheless, his The answer is quite simple to get one’s head around; systemic metabolic disfunction, usually involving the Pancreade, which has been ongoing for 3 or more years before institutionalized medicine is even able to diagnose “you have cancer” by way of finding a tumor by Xray, which the institution associates as one and the same with cancer.
Kelley was among many to realize a tumor is merely a symptom of the aforementioned metabolic disorder. Rife was possibly the first ( or maybe Bechamp by way of hypothesis) to connect cancer to a virus but he also discovered the pleomorphic nature of viruses & bacteria ….. more woo woo, of course 😅.

Trippin as a modality for cancer therapy …. Timothy Leary where are you?
This just in: “BOSTON(AP) —Uncle Joe Biden has a new national purpose …..ending cancer ‘as we know it’ by reducing fatalities 50 percent over the next 25 years ….. experts say objective could be attainable with adequate funding.”
Imagine, the cancer industry, which has been mining trillions of dollars over the decades out of the pockets of their consumers – statistically, upwards to 90 percent of whom die, miserably, from orthodox cancer treatment – has the nerve to theorize have that Grampa Simpson’s vision could be realized with adequate funding. I suppose that if Joepa were to redouble his efforts to force COV vaccinations upon the masses, this effectively would reduce death by cancer treatment by 50 percent or more, because chances are good that people will start dying much sooner than they would otherwise if they avoided the vacc and just waited to die from the chemo/surgery/radiation ‘the cut, slash & burn trinity of modern medicine’s model for cancer”.

He links to me and discusses my stuff a lot, apparently, although I haven’t watched more than a couple of minutes. I don’t know him, have never talked to him, and have no links to him. @Jared: I know you are an ace (not an ass) in computer science.
But I also know that an outsider’s point of view can create very good ideas, theories, etc. And that includes everyone here and elsewhere. Think of Miles Mathis, Josh, Gerry, Grant Genereux, Steven Oostdijk, Lestrade, Nevyn…..
For Those About to Rock (We Salute You). Sorry, I digress.
So why be so cynical and corrosive. It’s rather unconstructive. I can stand it (in life I’m like you). You often make my day. But with all that we endure here it’s a pity and even stupid.
Let no one silence you.
I know it can be rather redundant, but my experience as a mechanical engineer has taught me that it’s better to have a lot of feedback than not enough, even if it’s tedious, tiring, annoying.
And now I’m gone, I need to pee. I get lot of good ideas staring in front of me while peeing, whistling ‘for a few dollars more’. A sort of meditation.

I don’t really know that I am corrosive or unconstructive. What am I corroding? What am I… deconstructing?
Cutting through FOG in various ways requires various tools, though. Everyone real has various specialties, as we all know and see. Miles has a plethora. Gerry has some keen knives in his translation and language dissection. “Lestat” is hilarious and wonderful to read. Josh is devastating at all times, and humbles me consistently. There are many others, here and elsewhere, that chop through the lies very well.
My main skill is in visual tools and manipulation, and a secondary would possibly be my understanding of physics (orbital dynamics, for example), much of which came from Miles but also from my own studies outside of his scope, or alongside rather. But I really don’t go for “appeals to authority” or attempt to claim expertise for its own sake, I just have a lot more time in the saddle than most since graphics have been my career for several decades. I don’t believe that many of the people crying “CGI” constantly are lying, however – they just don’t have much or any experience in that field, and of course their assumptions are coming from the right place, the right HEART. I just don’t think we need additional fog in those areas since the truth is still the truth, and it isn’t anything to shy away from.
So maybe I do corrode stuff, ‘around here? But that’s what I am trying to corrode, anyway. Misconceptions about how things are done. Maybe I am too caustic about it, though.

@ 3rd doorman, Sorry, but yeah, it felt a little weird singling you out. But I was just trying to make a point. On the going viral comments you seemed to be pushing convid in relation to ivermectin. I tried to reference a quote from suntzufighting that succinctly put the nonsense of C19 and all its treatments it in a nutshell, but you just brushed it off as being false. What is desperately needed, you seem to say, was someone to step in and stop a stupid wrestling match? Jared nor you make this claim in that thread, that I “pushed” some part of convid as factual wrongly. You were free to do so. I didn’t bring up Ivermectin, I was adressing a statement poo poo’ing it that runs parallel to a massive maimstream disinfo campaign. “dealing” with a post, not a poster. Should I just Ad hom the poster, call them silly, harass and even snipe them months later in a completely unrelated topic because I believe they once posted a “pushing” of disinfo or misdirection? Again, I’m sorry, but yeah, I AM holding things against you related to the whole fakodemic and it’s fake treatments. Look, if you’re believing a lie, how are you going to know that you’ve been deceived?? Sometimes you can be holding onto a lie and not even realize it. I’ll give you an example: When Miles exposed the whole tranny thing, in a pdf, it really brought clarity. But, there was still a small part of the deception that seemed like it added up. I’m talking about the claim that a woman’s index and ring fingers are a different length than a man’s. It sounded and seemed right. But it’s not. At least not totally. Yet, I never thought to prove it out. I simply accepted it. And, I ended up being dumbfounded because of it. I never saw it coming because I was blinded by it.

You keep apologizing for singling me out, but that is a strawman, I’m not objecting to being singled out. To say I wasted someone’s time, this seems odd. Your post started above asks Jared “why be so cynical and corrosive. It’s rather unconstructive.” which is basically the issue I discussed.
Translating Miles into other languages is quite useful, I doubt I’ll be making a contribution as useful so I defer to your opinion here. Am I wasting people’s time? Would YOU stick around and continue to contribute when people just hurl insults? I’m being silenced by their tactics which Josh clearly prohibits. But because Josh is so busy, since before I even arrived, it seems even Miles needs to step in sometimes and make an effort to calm Jared down. He didn’t calm down though, Miles was ineffecive and took the wrong approach calling it a “feud”. Jared called Rollie a reciever of Langley(cia) checks, which Josh has stated is the LAST thing he wants to see here, if we suspect a spook in the forum disrupting things we are supposed to email him about it and not try calling them a spook. Others engage in tactics that run parallel to “the gentlemens guide to forum spies” I’ve seen plenty of it, I don’t think they even realize it, but because they are regular long time posters it seems just tolerated. Josh says if we don’t like it here we can leave, so in a way I don’t expect much change on rules or getting a little enforcement to keep things civil amid fundamental disagreements. Putting Jared in charge of the subreddit for MilesMathis seems to have been unfortunate, its has almost no activity, dying on the vine. Jared should be seeding some of his knowledge about orbital mechanics there, for those interested, but it seems he will just let it stagnate. Meanwhile he is over here pestering you for sharing your collected data. Not okay, in my opinion, corrosive and unconstructive seems spot on.

Tonnie: Yeah, there isn’t really a debate here, and I don’t mind that you sit this one out. Sorry to blow up your mailbox. Like I said, Jareds technique of ridiculing your attempt to present data on our posting issues is corrosive to the cuture here.
That the translating work you seem to be spending time on doesn’t earn you a respectful response, is careless.
For instance, a disussion of WHY he thinks your data is somehow flawed. Instead we get the usual hurling of insults; “pissing” in the wind, and irony on a spreadsheet, well corrosive and unproductive describes his approach perfectly.
I myself don’t even want to come here, if its considered trolling to challenge people’s ideas. If it invites an internet cuture of insults, then I’d rather avoid posting here at all.
Chris, when you ask someone a question, you are singling them out, its permitted, its ordinary. Re-read my thread here “https://cuttingthroughthefog.com/2018/11/09/current-events-discussion-thread/comment-page-163/#comment-212051”
Notice how Jared calls me silly in two ways, and that I’m playing games, but never clarifies what HE meant by silliness that takes up Josh’s time. This is expected behavior from him and was specifically not welcomed.
Miles rebukes Jared: “https://cuttingthroughthefog.com/2018/11/09/current-events-discussion-thread/comment-page-163/#comment-211404”
And here is Rollie in his own defense, and I agree with him. Its not JUST a feud. So with Rollie’s “verbal abuse” and your comment “corrosive” and “cynical” and my comment of “just insults”, and Miles’ “hauling litter” we have 4 critical depictions of where Jared is in error.

I wonder if Jones & corp. are going to hoist the expenses created by their Prison-Basement production over onto their loyal followers by emotionally extorting them to open their purses and give generous donations to save their guru.
While the first 45+ million “bill” only covered production fees – the phony jury, judge, lawyers, the MSM and other actors involved – this second trial could benefit Jones exclusively by producing/issuing (for-profit) ‘final judgement bill’.
It also seems to me that these “trials” are continuations of real attempts of gradual erosion of free speech – easiest way to change legislation under the radar is to perform decades long phony battles in the realm of legal illusion creating make believe atmosphere of forbidden language – meant to eventually “harmonize” the US with globally much tighter censoring in other countries (UK comes to mind, or Saudi Arabia). This orchestrated deconstruction show has still a long way to go, … meaning that freedom of speech in other countries around the world suffers in the long run directly each and every time when/if Americans are swindled into giving up their verbal speak-easy culture of truth-seeking elocution.

I like your energetic and polemical style but, at times, it appears to me that you are arguing over details, or for the sake of arguing.
In any case, I think you are wrong here. It is not so much about personal responsibility. When you are very young and you are being bombarded from 20 different angles with advanced psychological warfare, it is very hard to resist, unless you were a born warrior.
Don’t you think that, in general, they steal our health away? Or would you say ‘no one can take your health away, except yourself’?

I would say that anyone who is able to fend off propaganda already IS a warrior, born to it or otherwise. We were all young and ALL bombarded constantly, and it was hard to resist – yet here we are. Some of us are still young, and getting better at resisting.
No, they do not “steal our health away”. They ATTACK our health, but that’s not stealing. They don’t transfer it to themselves, not yet anyway. I believe they wish to, and that’s what the Jabs were all about (in my opinion), was testing out systems in which they could alter people’s genetics for longevity or brevity. I do think the Tyrants wish to achieve eternal life, or some farcical, perverted aspect of it.
But yeah, our health IS up to us and always has been. This is true of all life, not just humanity.

I’m with Spirit here. If they are making a profit by attacking our health there is a kind of stealing. I’ll mention circumcision produces tissues that end up in the facial cream market, cord blood, that is now proven the baby benefits from and needs, used to be more routinely clamped, harvested and profited from for stem cells. Even wisdom teeth removal produce tisses for sale and may be unecessary. Blood “donations” support an entire industry of storage/transport/transfusions that is not “donated” to patients who “need” it. Organ donors are declared brain dead, when really nobody knows if such a patient will recover, I could go on but its gets really grim. In Japan I’m told there is no “brain death” category that enables it all. It may not be legal theft, but then making a donation under complete ignorance and even lies by health practitioners is hardly just an attack on health, actual profit is generated.

About the AI argument….. does it exist? …. do we have IT ? , ive had doubts about the notion of computers attaining “intelligence” since the late 80’s when i first heard the term …. ive always thought of this as a misnomer but given the way basic cpu design “executive functions” somewhat mimics the human brain it might be easy for some people to take the implied leap.
More recently, it has occurred to me that if there really is any actual artificial intelligence to speak of, perhaps it is by way of IT – computers – being used to mimic or fill the more tedious roll of spook behavior …. artificially doing some of that kind of work – information technology – so that the human spooks have more playtime while the computer spooks crunch the numbers on the formers’s ongoing or future projects ….. ?

Within gaming, “AI” was just a reference to how well (or not) the computer opponent was programmed to challenge the player; it was never about sentience or human-like learning. Thus you have a remastered Age of Empires sequel that that human player tactics programmed into the computer players actions.
Within “Cognitive Science”, at least during the 1990s, “Artificial Intelligence” referred to using the computing model as an “analog” to the human mind, i.e. using computers to gain a better understanding of the mind works (at least according to the old book I dug out of the attic).
So I see at least three “traditions” behind the term “artificial intelligence”. Of course the mainstream meaning is computers thinking and acting with a will of their own, which is complete bollocks.

Something you might not have considered, Askimet uses the file of “spam” as a source of data to identify/deal with, new messages. Everytime someone lets a “real” message sit in the spam file, they are litting the filter train itself to idenfity future messages like that one as spam. It might be useful to dump this spam file, save a couple weeks worth of junk sanitized of not-junk, or whatever Josh has time for, and begin the process fresh. Askimet still uses a “global” dataset for filter training, but I’m talking about the “local” dataset. No idea if Josh is given this option, and my research on Askimet’s internal functions is limited.

Spam and moderation are surely different data pools. Spam would be the more obvious bot comments whereas moderation may be triggered by certain words perhaps and go into a different database which wouldn’t be privy to filter training?

You make an excellent point Lio, I’m sure we have all dealt with this in this and similiar communties. I call it “dead internet” theory, but there may be a more appropriate term.
One can download the video. Another way around this without archiving every video, archiving which may incur cost and not even honor global copywrite snafu law/algorithims, is to indicate the full title, author, description, all the metadata about the video being liked, down in a footnote. This allows people to search up a deleted youtube, on a bitchute or other video streaming service where “cancelled” content is often rehosted.
This applies to links here even, often I see stuff is gone by the time I get a chance to view it, if I had a title or author, or SOMETHING, I often can search a copy on a different video host service. I don’t usually post a new link, but I could, usually the conversation has already concluded and I’m arrive kinda late.
Miles or his assistant could periodically go back and update these links/footnotes, in his papers, and even save the video locally in case its later “dead” on the internet. But I have no “IN” on his private process, and I hestate to make any suggestions for improvement, I’m saying it COULD be done, with perhaps minimal extra effort, even by one of his trusted fans or supporters, etc.
I listen to Jay’s analysis sometimes and he had years of footnotes just dissappear, never to be reclaimed, when WordPress just deleted his site. He still presents such work, but it was then he explained that all his vigorous footnotes were unrecoverable.
BACKUP YOUR STUFF! If you don’t have three copies of personal writings, photos, any digital file you want to save, that data hardly even exists. Its like little dust particles being furiously spun on a disk, the wind WILL come and disperse them, like sparks in a photon storm.

At least for youtube, youtube-dl still works for making local copies. https://youtube-dl.org/ Win/Mac/*nix
As noted here, everything on the Internet as we know it is ephemeral and may go poof, so if you can make local copies do it. I do this especially for more mundane but practical info like gardening, gun-cleaning etc. It’s mind-blowing to see so much useful info on youtube despite the cancel culture.
There are also “site-sucking” tools that can be used to backup websites. I know a lot of people also immediately post links to the various archive sites like archive.ph so there’s a better chance of preserving valuable information that offends the phoeny censors or is deemed off-limits to the goy.
As of today you can score a 4TB (TB!!) external drive on newegg.com for 100$US.

I think this was the plan for Sandy Hook all along. It was conspiracy bait with deliberately planted goofs and clues. That’s why they called it Sandy HOOK.
That’s also probably why many of the videos are gone now. They laid down the rug and then pulled it out from under us.

We know they can deliberately plant goofs and clues, they can also just anonymously donate, protect, support the proliferation of, goofs and dead end clues that happen to arise.
How to tell the difference though? Deliberate vs. promoted? Miles diagrams them I think, his work labels them as goofs, clues that lead nowhere (aka misdiretion). I think he has a tendency to favor the “deliberately” planted explanation, but for me there is often little to no evidence, no matter how hard I search, to sway me off the fence between deliberate/organic arise then deliberately promoted. Agents vs. Dupes, its a constant process to delineate them somehow.
I focus on the goofs and clues themselves, and form my own Miles like doubts, often there are goofs/clues even whole trends in the maimstream and its oppostion, that are enormously popular and discussed widely, but serve no real function to win over hearts and minds and spur action.
My main one is still this idea that Covid was never “isolated” or properly contained in an “isolate” and THUS, and almost ONLY THUS, is merely a media maimstream story. That idea seems such an enormous misdirection to me, that so many potenial allies have fallen to. Its lamentable, since few are willing to discuss the subject 🙂

During the scenes in the first half of the movie, where I am supposed to feel proud of NASA or America, I don’t feel proud. I feel disappointed and slightly disgusted.
I constantly recognize propaganda, where previously the old me would have recognized none.
Working 24/7, sacrificing personal life for NASA and science and technology? Not something to be proud of, but subtle propaganda.
NASA lied to us (partially) about the moon landings, because there was something else on the moon, something even more dangerous, perhaps alien? Not so subtle propaganda.
It is both a blessing and curse to learn Miles’ teahings in my 20s. Blessing because I see the world for what it is. Curse because almost no one else in my immediate vicinity sees the truth for what it is, which makes feel a bit lonely sometimes, though rarely.

I don’t suffer from loneliness so much, but I’d like to hold sacred and buoy up the feel-good social club aspect of Cutting through the fog. Hard for me though when I’m being called an anonymous dolt.
Have you considered my “cause” recently to request respectfully a toning down of the internet hero sadistic burn culture we seem afflicted with? I think if more sensible members could extend a gentle motion in that direction, I would be content to drop contentious matters now and in the future and stick around to contribute productively. Otherwise, I consider “friends” a mere semantic fantasy, who here is my friend??!!

Don’t worry too much. After about 2 years things will settle in your head and the “curse” part of the awakening will vanish, I can assure you. Currently, your mind is simply detoxifying itself from the BS it’s been fed for years.
If no one around you sees the truth for what it is, attempt to inform them insofar as this doesn’t give you headaches and heartaches. The important person is you, not them. It is you who has the gnosis. And if they try to shame you for trying to help them with the truth, leave them in their dreams and then watch them fall into the abyss in slow motion. Take care of yourself first and foremost.

Watching people around me fall into the abyss in slow motion is a living hell. They already arrest me and drag me down with them to the inky depths as it is. I think the issue is that its not actually an abyss and they are not actually falling, its more like a dream as you say. Though I may treasure any gnosis as you call it, I am surely in a dream as well, there is simply no easy way to “rise above” or achieve nirvana, there is only a movement in that direction and an attentive readiness for when my dreamscape may show a tiny bit more of its true nature. On that I won’t decieve myself.
My hand is still ever ready to deliver a blow of honesty, to their panicky clutching for comfort in supporting their own dreamscape. My “job” is to NOT support their fantasy, I welcome the headaches and heartaches that might arise from a radical freedom loving honesty. They say love always lies, but its the liars who say that!
Do you have much experience in heartaches and headaches as you descibe? Its a thrilling and rewarding way to live I think, while also reducing the human suffering around you. Lying as you go through the day hardly seems like a spiritual path, find a way to tell the truth in a gentle or otherwise bracing way, and be true to what you actually can call knowledge in your life. Admit you know almost nothing are merely winging it, and a certain humility manifests, you realize you can’t diagnose the person in front of you, you can hardly diagnose the malaise in your closest loved ones and if you pretend to, a fall into arrogance and ignorance is immeadiate!!

“I think the issue is that its not actually an abyss and they are not actually falling, its more like a dream as you say.”
It IS an abyss and they are actually falling BECAUSE they live in a dreamworld. A nightmare world to be exact. Their maps are wrong, so they don’t know which way to swim.
“Though I may treasure any gnosis as you call it, I am surely in a dream as well, there is simply no easy way to “rise above” or achieve nirvana”
No, we are not in a dream. Gnosis means that we know how things work. We live in reality. At the very least, we live much much much nearer to reality compared with the average Matrix gentile.
Nirvana is not wanted and is not possible. But it is totally possible to “rise above”. If you have the Gnosis you know which way to swim. Thanks to Miles.
“Do you have much experience in heartaches and headaches as you describe?”
Yeah, a lot. And I disagree with the rest of what you say. I CAN “diagnose the malaise in my loved ones”: It is called consequences of brainwashing, idiocy and cowardice.

Just for fun question:
If oracles are there to “circumvent” halting and decision problems, then if you standardize a sequence of oracles of which each oracle deals with (specializes to circumvent) a particular uncomputability problem according to its hierarchical order, then all computations become seemingly possible. In other words, if you standardize prescribed cheating procedures (“gut feeling” or “mission impossible” dead end fake exit decisions), could you then call such oracle sequencing (spook inspired complex digital reality dodging) an almighty … quantum computing?
or…Our quantum computer (logically) cheats so seamlessly and unpredictably that it is unable, while retracing its own logical steps, to pinpoint the step where the logical mistake was circumvented, nor to conclude if any mistakes were ever made. Our quantum oracles are actively deceptive in all directions, progressive and regressive, so deceptive that we are unable to tell accurate internal clock machine time at any moment. We call it quantum foam computing time, because one can never know precisely how many quantum time bubbles were recreated, how many burst and how many are in process of creation and annihilation. Nevertheless quantum computing results are always correct and reliable.

[Computers can do that faster and more accurately than humans, and that discrepancy in performance is in fact what the captcha system is detecting. A computer can click on precisely the center of each image containing a dog in less than 50 ms, and in so doing it reveals itself as a computer and fails the captcha.]
But then why can’t someone write a computer program that is able to click on a random pixel in an image, with a random delay time and therefore imitate a human interaction?

A random function does not mimic a human interaction, though. Attempts to randomly choose (as a human) will always be influenced by non-random aspects. The computer only has influences which are programmed in; a person has those PLUS their own mental propensities PLUS the mere act of attempting to randomly select will bias the selection as well. Those aren’t codified in a person, at least not in the same way. It’s not very similar.

I once read…heard…felt on brail (not really 😉 ) that a computer cannot be programmed to produce a truly random number; that, say, dice rolls in a computer game are not truly random. It only mimics randomness, something like that.

@Raymond D. All computer algorithms that generate “random” numbers are really psuedorandom, and are deterministic based on the seed number given to the algorithm. The algorithm can be guaranteed to produce a uniform distribution after many samples, but the numbers given will not actually be random. A classic algorithm that isn’t too difficult to understand is a linear congruential generator. To get true randomness you would have to have the seed number be truly random. random.org uses atmospheric noise to generate the seed number to achieve true randomness (unless you believe in a deterministic universe).

I was simplifying, but the captcha system also takes into account things like mouse movements, so if the mouse movement is too robotic (e.g. moving in a straight line from start to finish) that will give it away. The implementation is proprietary, but it was also certainly trained via a GAM (generative adversarial network) where one network (the generator) creates a time series that is either a real human (i.e. actual training data) or creates a mock-human input as accurately as possible, and the other network (the discriminator) tries to tell the difference. That is the kind of neural network architecture that can create pictures of fake people, and while it’s not perfect (machine learning systems never achieve 100% accuracy, they just try to get as close as possible) it is still very powerful.
The takeaway is that it’s actually very difficult to write a program that solves a captcha in a way that closely imitates a real person, and basically impossible if you are writing standard code, as opposed to writing a machine learning model to do it for you. See the distinction between software 1.0 and 2.0.

Besides, maybe the captcha is just a way of collecting massive amounts of data of human interaction that they can then use for other purposes?

Yup. That and another way to reallly annoy us 😉

They probably use the data they collect to improve the captcha system itself, but I doubt that captcha data really carries over to other problems. Much more important is browsing data, who you interact with online, what videos you watch on YouTube, etc. That can be used to get a pretty detailed view of what you think and how you spend your time. I think it would be hard to extract that kind of information from how accurately you click on road signs.

Well they absolutely did use it to improve the system, and that’s why the Captcha systems don’t use any of that anymore. Not since V2. If you see any of the older ones where you have to click anything at all, or even SEE anything there, then it’s of the older variety and those aren’t even supported anymore. All new Captchas and Recaptcha systems are completely hidden and silent in the background, and require no interaction from the person viewing the site at all – because the person viewing the site can’t see them, at all. It’s been like this for several years now.

Despite what Jared seems to be saying here, I am still presented a “I am not a robot” check box by google, and deal with other captchas outside the google system, that I can see and must actively complete. I really wonder why he says stuff like this:

To know the truth you must be curious enough to seek it, clever enough to grasp it, and strong enough to bear it. If you lack even one of these things, you’re done.
This is why the weak but informed soul longs for ignorance, and often believes in nonsense when they know better.
Possessing the truth then is as much a test of understanding as it is of character. And this is why there are many delusional clever people, for although they are clever, their weakness of soul leads them to foolishness – their intellect a gift frivolously wasted. A great shame.
A man once said to me “life is an IQ test, it’s hard, but it’s harder if you’re dumb”
I agreed, it’s that, but not only that. That’s the rational component.
It’s a test of character too. That’s the spiritual component.
I believe we are humanly incomplete without passing both.

It is admitted that the “type the words you see” variant of captchas are assisting (training?) the OCR algorithms that are scanning hard to read / damaged texts.
The one that really gets me is the checkbox “I am not a computer” — how does that one work? Surely somebody could write a random timer to check that box and, and, and…
Can’t code random because the way entropy works is you can know it when you see it, but you can’t catch it and put in a box.

There are no icons or tools in this forum on any device, in any browser. To post an image, simply copy/paste its address. It must be hosted elsewhere online. The address must end with the file extension, i.e., “. jpg” or “. png” or GIF. No markup is necessary, just the address with file name and extension.
So if you right-click “Open Image in New Tab” this image and then copy/paste its full address into a comment (for example), it should show up readily.

Some of them made it to the site but that doesn’t necessarily mean they were successful in any intrinsic sense.
When I look at your graph, I just see a lot of spikey things. Ooh! Spikes = spike protein = covid. Ooh! Ooh!
I also perceive a trend where total akismet outages seem to occur in the early hours of the day Washington DC time. Somebody throws the big master switch to OFF when the night shift of spooks are out of the office, unavailable to do real-time vetting of submitted CTTF comments.

Shouldn’t they be arrested or at least suspended from the job, for lies and withholding truthful information from the public they represent?
And while we are talking about fake events, the headlines are starting to say Ukraine is winning the wargame hoax.
